From Trash to Treasure: Fashioning Now /
Sydney Design 2009 Workshops
Aimed at senior secondary and tertiary students, the From Trash to Treasure workshops aim to create fashionable outcomes from waste materials gathered from local recycling centres. The morning session focuses on the upcycling of discarded materials through textile manipulation and rich embellishment. The afternoon session focuses on the creation of fashion garments. Both workshops will receive inspirational support from industry professionals. The results will feature on the Fashioning Now website and all work created can be kept by the students.
Places are free but limited to 20 students per workshop. Each workshop is split into a morning and afternoon session with a one-hour lunch break from 12-1pm (lunch is not provided).
