Exhibition Details

"Good Form" implies promise, potential. It is a typically Australian understatement, a laconic way of saying that something is decent, up to and surpassing expectations, something that is not lacking in substance. It is this expression from which this year's UTS Industrial Design Graduating Exhibition takes its title. In this context, "Good Form" also describes the shapes, structure and volumes of the three-dimensional products which the show celebrates.

The exhibition is a showcase of tomorrow's design talent, the culmination of four years study. The products on show here are the result of extensive research coupled with personal interest and passion, each an attempt to satisfy an identified need. As such, the range of projects on show in Good Form is as wide and varied as the students who designed them.

One of the broader aims of "Good Form" is to forge stronger links between business and university in the field of Industrial Design, encouraging greater awareness of the importance and value of this discipline within the community at large. In sharing this vision, we would like to thank Mark Armstrong of Blue Sky Design, specialist advisors, and our generous sponsors for their assistance and expertise.

Finally, the designs you see in this exhibition would not have been possible without the enduring support of teaching staff, friends, and family to whom we send out our undying gratitude. We hope you enjoy the good forms produced by this good form, the graduating class of 2001.
